“Are there no efficient leaders in TRS to become ministers in the cabinet of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao? Is he only waiting for the defection of Congress leaders,” asked Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee working president and former MP Ponnam Prabhakar, criticising Mr. Rao for waiting too long to administer oath of office to the newly elected legislators.
“Mr Rao has no guts to constitute his cabinet with the 90 TRS elected legislators and is still luring Congress legislators with the ministerial berth,” said Mr. Prabhakar even as he warned about dharnas outsides the houses of defecting Congress leaders and taking out funeral processions.
Talking to newsmen here on Sunday, he alleged while the TRS government seems to have no time to ensure that the elected legislators take oath, the Chief Minister is touring the country in the name of a federal front.
He also alleged that the TRS had betrayed the youth by not providing unemployment pension after attaining power and cheated the government employees by not increasing the age of retirement to 61 years. He also flayed the TRS for not waiving crop loans while the Congress-ruled States have already announced waiver of farm loans.
Mocks federal front
Reiterating that there was no role of the federal front in the country, he said that the Lok Sabha elections would be fought only between the Congress and the BJP. He predicted that AICC president Rahul Gandhi would become the next Prime Minister and added that the Congress would win all the 17 MP seats in Telangana.
Demanding that the BJP government order a Joint Parliamentary Committee inquiry into the Rafale deal, he accused the TRS for remaining silent over the issue and extending support to the “corrupt BJP” at the Centre.
Congress leaders D. Shankar, Kanne Krishna and G. Madhavi were also present.
