Central and south Delhi witnessed traffic congestion on Sunday as revellers thronged India Gate and Qutub Minar.
Motorists passing through India Gate C-hexagon got stuck in a major jam due to pedestrian jaywalking and vehicles parked haphazardly. Traffic policemen on duty at India Gate were seen stopping pedestrians from jaywalking.
A traffic police officer said, “We keep posting updates on social media for motorists regarding traffic jams on various stretches. We also deploy extra personnel at places where large gatherings are expected on weekends.”
