The Central Board of Secondary education (CBSE) released the date sheet of the 2019 Class 10 and 12 board examination on Sunday. While the boards for Class 12 will begin on February 15, 2019, and will go on till April 3, 2019, exams for Class 10 will start from February 21, 2019, and conclude on March 29, 2019. All exams will be held from 10.30 am to 1.30 pm.

The board has fixed the dates ensuring that they do not coincide with competitive exams, CBSE said. Last year, the Class 12 Physics exam and JEE-Main exam were scheduled on the same day. The physics exam was then moved to a later date. The board has also given sufficient time to students to prepare, hence announcing the dates seven weeks before the exams.

CBSE has 40 vocational subjects in Class 12, and 15 in Class 10. The exams for vocational subjects will be held earlier. This decision comes after the Delhi High Court order that said Delhi University (DU) should fix the cut-off dates for admission to undergraduate courses only after CBSE results are declared including results for re-evaluation. Students will write their exam for core subjects in March.

A CBSE official said that DU's admission schedule of has also been kept in consideration while making the date sheet.
