Fortune teller hacked to death in Tirupur

The murder happened in broad daylightTIRUPUR: A fortune teller was hacked to death by a man in broad daylight in Tirupur in Tamil Nadu on Monday.
The murdered man has been identified as J Ramesh alias Kumar of Bharathi Pudur near Mangalam. He was making a living as a fortune teller -- using parrots -- in front of a park here.
The murder happened in Binny Compound Main Street. Police obtained footage from CCTV cameras in the area. The visuals showed an unidentified man quarrelling with the fortune teller.
“When Ramesh took a few steps forward, the murderer put helmet on his head and followed him. The man pulled out a sickle from a shoulder bag and hacked him several times," said a police officer. The man escaped from the spot after the murder.
Police seized a notice which was believed to have been left there by the murderer. It was written in the notice that Ramesh was responsible for the separation of a woman -- with whom the murderer had an affair – from him. The man wanted to expose the alleged “evil side” of the fortune teller, it said.
