Accused wife killer Chris Dawson is expected to be released from jail TODAY and will spend Christmas with his family - just two weeks after he was charged over the 1982 murder case that's gripped Australia
Accused wife killer Chris Dawson is expected to be released from jail on Monday, allowing him to spend Christmas with his family.
Dawson, 70, was granted bail last Monday after being charged with murdering his wife Lyn, who disappeared from Sydney's northern beaches in 1982.
However, Dawson's release from the Silverwater Correctional Facility was delayed through the week and over the weekend due to the complexity of his application.
Paperwork which had held up his release has now been accepted, paving the way for his release.

Dawson's family, including his brother Peter, offered up $1.5million in surety comprised of real estate and other assets to secure his release.
If Dawson is not released on Monday his next likely opportunity will be after Christmas and Boxing Day.
He intends pleading not guilty to killing his wife who was 33 when she disappeared from Sydney's northern beaches. Her body has never been found.
Dawson is expected to spend Christmas with family in Queensland following his release, according to news.com.au.
More to come.
