AGRA: New Agra police on Monday arrested two more accused who were allegedly involved in raping an 18-year-old near Pohiya Ghat under the jurisdiction of New Agra police on December 18.
Identified as Mukesh Nishad (24), and Khinni Nishad (25), the two were allegedly nabbed from the district court premises just as they were about to surrender in court.

Last Wednesday, police arrested two more men — Rohit Nishad (23), and Kanhiya Lal (19), for their alleged involvement in the gang-rape case.

Senior superintendent of police, Agra, Amit Pathak said, “Evidence is being gathered to build a strong case against the accused.”

On December 18, the four accused, who are residents of Bahadurpur village, allegedly gang-raped the girl near Pohiya Ghat.

According to the FIR, the survivor was taken away by four motorbike-borne men from Bhagwan Talkies roundabout on National Highway 2, which is a stone’s throw from New Agra police station around 5 pm.

Speaking with TOI, the survivor’s parents said, “Our daughter was abducted while she was on way to her coaching class on her two-wheeler. She was later raped near Pohiya Ghat of river Yamuna.”

Meanwhile, the medical report of the survivor said that she had several abrasions on her face, around chest and “rape cannot be ruled out”.
