Odisha will be the engine for development of New India- Modi

Khordha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said the various infrastructure projects initiated by the centre will give Odisha a new identity to become the gateway of development for entire eastern India.

Dedicating the IIT, Bhubaneswar campus at Argul to the nation and also laying the foundation stones of several NH projects, two pipe line projects and other infrastructure projects worth Rs 14,523 crore, Mr Modi said all these projects would play a big role for the development of the state.

Mr Modi said the centre is committed for the development of the eastern India and more particularly Odisha which he said would soon become the petroleum hub of the entire eastern India.

The Prime minister said the various projects relating to the higher education, gas, roads and cultural activities will help develop each and every corner of the state.

Mr Modi laid the foundation stone of Indian Oil’s Paradip –Hyderabad product pipe line project and GAIL’s Bokaro- Angul Pripe Line projects at an estimated cost of Rs 7,200 crore.

These two projects, the Prime Minister said will give a new identity to Odisha and fulfill the dreams of the people of the state.

Odisha, he said is emerging as the Petroleum hub for the entire eastern India. The Bokaro-Angul pipe line project by the GAIL will help development of four Odisha districts and five districts of Jharkhand.

The 1,260 crore Bhubaneswar IIT dedicated to the nation, Mr Modi said will fulfill the dreams of Odisha youths and provide employment generation, produce high standard engineers and entrepreneurs and undertake research on the tribals, forest produce and new technologies.
