KANPUR: One Virendra Gupta travelling on board Gorakhpur-bound Lokmanya Express was taken into custody at Kanpur Central railway station on Friday night over suspicion of murdering his wife Gudiya and stage-managing the death to make it seem like it was due to an ailment.

Gudiya's brother Prabhu Gupta, who reached Kanpur Central on Saturday morning, suspected foul play after coming across strangulation marks on her neck.

He later filed a complaint with the GRP at Kanpur Central, accusing her husband of killing her. An FIR has been filed. GRP Bhopal will probe the case.
