Gujarat: 2 more arrested in ponzi case

Picture for representation purpose onlyAHMEDABAD: Crime branch on Sunday nabbed Laxmichand Rathod and Manoj Rathod for allegedly cheating several people in a ponzi scheme started by Ashok Jadeja and his accomplice Popat Chhara.
Jadeja, who started a ponzi scheme in the name of Vahan Vati Sikotar Mata in 2009 and cheated several people of his Chhara community from across the state of crores, was released on bail in April 2018.
“He then along with his accomplices started another ponzi scheme in the name of Blue Diamond,” and promised the investors to double their investments in a fortnight. He, however, cheated them. About six such complaints lodged with Sarkhej police were transferred to the crime branch. Crime branch has till now arrested four accused in the case, including Jadeja, who is behind bars,” said ACP crime branch Bhagirathsinh Gohil.
Gohil added that Rathod was also an accused in the 2009 ponzi scheme. He was arrested then and recently released on bail.
