Only BJP can get a Ram Temple constructed: Yogi
Pankaj Shah | TNN | Dec 23, 2018, 13:58 ISTLUCKNOW: Bringing the spotlight back on the clamour around temple issue, UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday said that it was only the BJP which could get the Ram temple constructed at the dispute site in Ayodhya.
Addressing a gathering at the `Yuva Kumbh' organised in the state capital, Yogi in an apparent swipe at Congress president Rahul Gandhi said there were some who were misguiding the people by showing their 'janau' (sacred thread) and telling their 'gotra'.
"Ram Mandir ka nirman agar koi karega to wo hum hi karenge...koi doosra nahi karega," amid loud cries of 'Vote Usiko Jayega Jo Mandir Banwayega' from the gathering essentially comprising cadres from RSS and the BJP.
Yogi's statement on the temple issue comes less than a fortnight after the BJP lost assembly elections in the Hindi heartland states of Rajasthan, MP and Chhattisgarh to Congress. It also comes amid the RSS and the VHP pressing the BJP to bring in an ordinance or take a legislative route to get a Ram temple constructed at the disputed site in Ayodhya.
