CHANDIGARH: Hundreds of residents and parents of four teenagers missing for the last four days, on Saturday, blocked traffic at the Hallomajra light point for an hour over the alleged police inaction in the case.

The protesters raised slogans against the police for allegedly not making efforts to trace the missing children.

Dharmender Kumar, a resident of Hallomajra, said his son Vivek, 15, and his friend Rahul, 15, have been missing since Tuesday. Vivek had gone for his tuition classes around 5.30 pm on Tuesday and never returned home. Residents said two girls aged around 14 to 16 have also been missing since Wednesday.

Police claimed they had put the mobile phones of both the girls on surveillance and their last location was traced to Ambala. At Hallomajra, the blockade caused a traffic jam, forcing the Sector 31 police station house officer to reach the spot. He pacified the protesters, assuring them that teams had been formed to find the missing kids. The residents then ended the protest.
