“As the carnival will be inaugurated by CM Vijay Rupani heavy police bandobast has been deployed at the venue,” Yadav said, adding that along with three DCP-rank officers, three ACPs, 31 PIs, 100 Wireless PSIs, 1,296 ASIs and head constables, and 190 woman head constables and police constables will be present at the venue. “On top of these, 260 SRP jawans and about 200 home guard jawans will also be deployed,” he said. Yadav said heavy bandobast was necessary as lakhs of people came to the carnival and it was easy for anti-social elements to mix in the crowd.

“These miscreants steal vehicles, valuables, snatch chains, purses or mobiles, pick pockets and commit petty offences. We have taken full care to curb criminals and let people enjoy the carnival,” Yadav said.
