President Ram Nath Kovind hosted the traditional ‘At Home’ at Rashtrapati Nilayam here on Sunday for the elite in the city.
Ahead of his departure for Delhi on Monday, the event witnessed participation of Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu, who is also camping in the city, Governor E. S. L. Narasimhan and senior leaders of different parties, bureaucrats, cops and officials of the Armed Forces.
Prominent among those present were Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, Legislative Council Chairman K. Swamy Goud, ex-ministers Eatala Rajender and Kadiyam Srihari, former assembly speaker S Madhusudhana Chary, MLA Ch. Malla Reddy and TRS Parliamentary Party leader K Keshava Rao.
Congress leader Ponguleti Sudhakar Reddy, BJP MLC N. Ramchander Rao, TRS MP Konda Vishweshwar Reddy, who switched to the Congress, senior politicians, and Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar and Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagwat were also present. So were tennis star Sania Mirza and her sister Anam.
Around 4.30 p.m., Mr Kovind walked into the lawn and went around greeting his guests, after accepting the guard of honour.
