NFR to run four special trains on Tuesday

GUWAHATI: Anticipating a huge rush of people to be witness to the opening of the country’s longest rail-cum-road bridge on December 25 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Kareng Bali Ghat in Dhemaji, Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to run four special trains to and from Tangani. Two trains each will start from Gogamukh and Murkongselek.
“It is assessed that a large number of people will converge at the inauguration ceremony of the new bridge over Brahmaputra on December 25. Therefore, for the convenience of people attending the inauguration ceremony, NF Railway has decided to run these four special trains,” CPRO PJ Sharma said.

The first special train (05816/05815) will leave Murkongselek at 7 am and arrive at Tangani at 9.30 am, with stoppages at Telam, Simen Chapari and Sripani. The train will have 18 coaches. While returning from Tangani, it will run on open timings (not fixed, but flexible).


The second special train (05862/05861) will leave Murkongselek at 8.15 am and arrive at Tangani at 10.15, am with stoppages at Laimekuri and Sripani. This train will have 17 coaches and while returning from Tangani it will run on open timings.


The third special train (05812/05811) will leave Gogamukh at 07.30 am and arrive at Tangani at 9 am, with stoppages at Bordoloni and Dhemaji. The train will have 17 coaches and while returning from Tangani it will run on open timings.


Similarly, the fourth train (05894/05893) will leave Gogamukh at 8.30 am to arrive at Tangani at 9.55 am with stoppages at Moridhal and Sripani. The train will have 17 coaches and while returning from Tangani it will run on open timings.
