As the news spread that a leopard had strayed into Laxmipura village, police team rushed to the spot. The leopard’s movement into the village created panic among the villagers who aggressively started chasing the animal. The animal attacked three persons of the village identified as Bhimraj, Hariprasad and Ramdayal while they were chasing the animal with the crowd. The three villagers injured were discharged after primary medical treatment.
Forest officers were soon informed who reached the village at 2 pm and initiated operation to tranquilize and rescue the animal safely, said DFO, Kota, Jodhraj Singh. The rescue operation had to face difficulties due to huge crowd in the village but after persuading and convincing the villagers, they cooperated with the rescue team and the animal eventually could be tranquilized at around 4.30 pm.
