Man 'kills' bro over money in mom's presence in Mumbai

MUMBAI: A 36-year-old man from Bandra (west) was arrested for the murder of his younger brother in their mother's presence on Friday. Their mother had told the police that her son died of a "bad fall". The post-mortem examination revealed it was homicide.


The deceased, Riyaz Khan (27), who had a crime record, lived in Rahul Nagar slum with the elder brother, Asif, and their mother. "On Thursday, the brothers had a fight over money," said a police officer. Matters turned ugly turn when Asif brought out a dupatta and strangled Riyaz. He fled as Riyaz collapsed.


Their mother took Riyaz to Bhabha Hospital where he was pronounced dead. As the autopsy showed ligature marks on his neck, the police questioned the who eventually told them of Asif's involvement.
