Six police officers of the Bowenpally police station, including inspector V Anand Kishore, were transferred and attached to the City Armed Reserve headquarters, following allegations that they had beaten up minors boys inside the police station on Wednesday.
Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Anjani Kumar on Friday issued orders against inspector Kishore, sub-inspectors G. Guru Swamy, M. Srinivas and V. Mohan Babu, constable B. Kiran Kumar and home guard G. Tirupathi Reddy for their misconduct, which brought a bad name to the Hyderabad city police, a press release said.
On Wednesday, nine youngsters, four of them minors, were allegedly beaten up by the Bowenpally police after they were picked up for creating ‘nuisance’ in the locality, following a birthday party.
The victims alleged that the police beat them black and blue in the police station for celebrating a birthday on the streets, but the police vehemently denied the allegation.
