This was Lewis’ fourth T20I fifty in the format and first against hosts Bangladesh. The 26-year-old now tops the list of highest score for a Caribbean batsman against Bangladesh in T20Is.
Also, his tally of eight sixes and six fours is the highest by a Windies player against the opposition.

To go with that, he scored his runs at an astonishing strike rate of 247.22, which is his highest-ever in T20Is. In the match against World XI earlier this year, his 58 had come at a strike rate of 223.07.

Interestingly, it is the fifth highest individual score posted by a Windies player outside the Caribbean.

This innings also announced Lewis’ return to form, after he had had a horrendous year with the bat. He failed miserably in the CPL where he only scored 126 runs at an average of 11.45 in 11 matches. In fact, he had the worst average in CPL 2018 in the list of batsmen with minimum 100 runs scored.

Before this match his average vs Bangladesh was 5.50 with 22 runs in four matches. Now he improved it to 22.20.
