Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will undertake a yatra to explore the formation of the ‘federal front’ after taking the blessings of Swami Swaroopanandendra of Visakha Sarada Peetham here on Sunday.
He will be accompanied by his family members.
This will be his first trip to meet the leaders of non-BJP and non-Congress parties in Odisha, West Bengal and New Delhi after leading his party, the TRS, to an emphatic victory in the Assembly elections recently.
Peetham sources said Mr. Rao would arrive in the city by a special aircraft and reach the peetham at about 11 a.m. He would leave for Bhubaneswar after lunch.
Meeting with Naveen
In Odisha, Mr. Chandrasekhar Rao would meet Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, visit Konark and have darshan of Lord Jagannath at the temple in Puri.
After a night’s stay at Mr. Patnaik’s residence, he would proceed to Kolkata to meet his West Bengal counterpart Mamata Banerjee. He is scheduled to offer prayers at the Kali temple at Kalighat. Mr. Rao would leave for New Delhi on December 25 and meet the Opposition leaders.
He sought an appointment with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make a courtesy call after taking over as Chief Minister of Telangana for the second term.
