The National Weather Service has issued a flood watch for all of southern New England except Cape Cod and the Islands for late Thursday night  through late Friday night. A wind warning has been posted for the coast and a wind advisory inland for 7 a.m. to 10 p.m..

Rainfall of 2 to 3 inches is expected, with as much as 4 inches in parts of western and central Massachusetts and northern Connecticut, with the potential for minor to moderate street flooding. Roads that normally flood in heavy rain may be closed, and minor flooding of rivers is possible.

Along the coast, the wind will gust to 60 mph, likely taking down limbs, trees and power lines. Scattered power failures are expected. Inland, gusts may reach 50 mph.

The temperature is expected to reach 60 on Friday, before a stretch of seasonably cold, sunny weather moves in.
