The acquisition is in line with EY's efforts to add capabilities which are relevant to digital transformation, including thinking, user experience (UX) design, usability and building user-centric digital ecosystems.

The acquisition is expected to be completed shortly, EY said in a statement on Thursday without disclosing the acquisition amount.

"The FCUX team brings unique and differentiated design and user experience skills," Mahesh Makhija, Emerging Technology & EY India, said in a statement.

EY has been collaborating with FCUX Design over the past two years in the implementation of several digital transformation engagements.

"The integration comes at a crucial time as clients are becoming increasingly digital and looking for innovative solutions to better engage their customers and accelerate performance," Makhija added.

With the fast-growing need from organisations to undertake large-scale digital transformation, EY said it plans to hire another 2,000 professionals with diverse capabilities over the next three years.
