Honda S660 Trad Leather Edition Is Another Reason To Like The Tiny Roadster

The Honda S660 roadster is a forbidden fruit for car lovers outside Japan which is why we drool over every special edition model the automaker happens to launch.

The latest one is called Trad Leather Edition and goes on sale on December 21 in Japan before making its official debut at the Tokyo Auto Salon next month. As its name suggests, it offers a leather-trimmed interior that combines light tan and black leather for the sports seats, steering wheel, passenger-side dashboard, and instrument panel cover.

The cabin also features an aluminum plate with “Trad Leather” logo on the center console to remind of the tiny roadster’s special status.

The leather treatment on the inside is joined by a matching brown soft top on the outside that goes together really well with the British Green body color showcased in the pictures. Besides the green, there are two other paints available for the S660 Trad Leather Edition — Premium Star White and Nighthawk Black. Rounding off the exterior tweaks of the special edition S660 are the bi-color aluminum wheels in silver and black.

The S660 Trad Leather Edition also brings the City-Brake Active System as standard — lesser models only have it as an optional feature.

Since we’re talking about a Kei car, no changes were made to the turbocharged 0.66-liter three-cylinder gasoline engine which continues to make 63 horsepower and 77 lb-ft (104 Nm) of torque. It’s linked to either a six-speed manual or a CVT that drive the rear wheels.

Prices in Japan start from 2,275,560 yen (about $20,500) regardless of the chosen transmission.
