A pilot who crashed his plane so badly it lost a wing has miraculously walked away from accident with minor injuries.
The 78-year-old had navigated a safe take off before the plane unexpectedly lost power and crashed in a paddock near Dalby, north-west of Brisbane, at about 5am on Friday morning.
The experienced pilot, who was on a fertiliser run, crashed into a muddy paddock.

A Queensland fire and emergency services (QFES) lieutenant who was at the scene told Seven News the plane was badly damaged and lost a wing.
The man was pulled from the wreckage by a member of the public.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said the call for an ambulance was cancelled after the man made his own way to treatment.
According to the QFES lieutenant, the pilot is fine but a little shaken up.
'He's very lucky,' said the lieutenant.
The crash is expected to be investigated by air authorities.
