JAIPUR: In order to facilitate the passengers traveling to shorter distances which mainly include daily passengers, north western railways (NWR) have de-reserved selected sleeper coaches for second class sitting during the day.
The facility has been started in 26 trains and will benefit private employees, government employees, railway staff and other passengers who travel between Alwar to Jaipur, Dausa to Jaipur, Phulera to Ajmer, Jaipur to Ajmer and other stations.
Most of the time passengers who travel almost every day to shorter-distances complain that trains having two to three general class coaches are insufficient to meet the rush.
“In 26 trains we have started the facility through which a passenger having general class ticket can board selected sleeper coaches by paying nominal charge for second class sitting. This will benefit passengers travelling to shorter distances,” said Abhay Sharma, chief public relations, NWR on Thursday.
