When Vishnu appears before Dhruva, He touches the child’s head with His conch and Dhruva praises the Lord, said Akkarakkani Srinidhi in a discourse. Dhruva says that the Lord is present in everyone and if not for this none will be able to function. Everything constitutes His body. But the faults of these things do not affect the Lord in anyway. Even Brahma was able to carry out His duties because of Him. He imparted knowledge to Brahma. He is like the kalpaka vriksha, which grants anything that one desires. But the Lord is the only One who can grant moksha. That being the case, if a person seeks other boons from Him, then he is foolish.
In comparison with Paramapada, all worlds are like naraka. People may aspire for svarga, but one’s stay in svarga is also temporary, whereas moksha is permanent. Only a fool will seek something like svarga when the Lord can grant him moksha. Dhruva prays for the boon of always being in the company of those who are of pure mind, who are without bad qualities like anger and who worship the One with all auspicious qualities. Dhruva says that if he is with such people, then he will be able to listen to them narrate incidents which bring out His auspicious qualities.
Dhruva says, “As I listen to such stories, which are like nectar, I will in course of time be able to cross the ocean of samsara. Moreover, such stories will also keep me from worrying about the body or the joys and sorrows associated with it. Your devotees are detached from family, friends and wealth. I have seen Your Divyamangala Vigraha (auspicious form) due to Your mercy. During the deluge, You swallow the worlds. From Your navel emanates a lotus flower and Brahma comes from this lotus. You are worshipped through yagnas. And You give the fruits of such yagnas too.”
