Ludhiana: Elderly man ends life after son diagnosed with cancer

The deceased (60) was reported upset after his 35-year-old son was diagnosed with cancer.
Harjit Singh owned a garment shop in the same area.
Police officials said Harjit was also suffering from health ailments.
Cops said that as per the family of the deceased, he went to sleep on Wednesday night and on Thursday morning they found him hanging with the iron grill. The family then informed the police.
Police recovered the body of the deceased from the spot and got his post-mortem examination done before handing it over to his family.
Police has meanwhile initiated inquest proceedings under section 174 of CrPc.
