Tuned KTM X-Bow Features 485 PS, 0-62 MPH In Under 3 Seconds

The stock KTM X-Bow should be a more than adequate adrenaline provider for most enthusiasts, but Wimmer RST decided to improve it anyway.

So, they took on the GT and R versions of the sports car recently, injecting the Audi-sourced 2.0-liter TFSI with an impressive 485 PS (478 hp / 357 kW) and 520 Nm (384 lb-ft) of torque.

Obtained by optimizing the software and modifying other parts, the extra 185 PS (182 hp / 136 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque help both versions of the X-Bow hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.97 seconds and 200 km/h (124 mph) in 9.9 seconds.

Tipping the scales at 847 kg (1,823 lbs), the stock X-Bow GT needs 4.1 seconds for the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration. The X-Bow R, on the other hand, which weighs 790 kg (1,742 lbs) without fuel, is 0.2 seconds quicker.

Both numbers are for the six-speed manual gearbox version of the basic sports car. But Wimmer RST’s examples feature the (optional) six-speed DSG, with three driving modes, and benefit from a few carbon fiber updates on the outside as well.

For the ultimate experience, Wimmer RST recommends opting for the X-Bow R, which is not only a tad lighter than the GT, but requires wearing a helmet, as it doesn’t have a windscreen.
