Delhi: CCTV clips help cops arrest killer after 2 years

NEW DELHI: Almost two years after a man went underground after shooting a person dead in southwest Delhi, the police managed to arrest him with help from CCTV footage. The crime and the killer had been captured on one of the cameras installed at an individual's house in the area.
The accused has been identified as Vihal Chabbu, a close associate of jailed gangster Manjeet Mahal. DCP (southwest) Devender Arya said they had received information that the accused wanted in a case of murder of February 2017 would come to Nangal Dewat.
"Chhabbu was arrested and a pistol and cartridges were seized from him," Arya added.
The accused told cops that he had killed one Dinesh with help from two aides of Manjeet Mahal Gang - Anshul Dhankar and Vikas Dalal. They suspected Dinesh to be associated with a rival gang led by gangster Nandu. On February 19, the accused waylaid Dinesh while he was going to the market with his friend and shot him thrice before fleeing. Cops are now looking for his associates.
