Vehicle checking drive from 7pm to 9pm daily

Representative imageAHMEDABAD: To stop the flow of liquor in dry Gujarat, city police will be conducting a vehicle checking drive keeping in view the New Year celebrations in the city.
Senior police sources said to kick-start the vehicle checking drive all officers of Sector -2 have been directed to be on road and supervise the drive.
The drive will be conducted daily between 7 pm and 9 pm on daily basis, said a senior police official.
ACP Sector- 2 Ashok Yadav said the drive has several objectives.
"While the main reason is to stop liquor trafficking, we will also be able to track stolen vehicles, wanted accused and miscreants who are out to commit crimes," he said.
