Two-day national convention of Sahakara Bharati at Pushkar from Dec 22
Jaideep Shenoy | TNN | Dec 20, 2018, 17:31 ISTMANGALURU: The two-day national convention of Sahakara Bharati, a national level cooperative body, will be held at Pushkar in Rajasthan from December 22. Karnataka will send a 125-member delegate for the convention, which will deliberate on various issues and concerns to the cooperative sector, noted S R Sathishchandra, president of the multi-state cooperative, The Central Arecanut & Cocoa Marketing & Processing Cooperative (Campco) Limited.
The cooperative sector plays an important role in the economy of India. It has the power to transform the socio-economic structure in society, cooperative institutions have helped to transform the rural economy in many instances and aided progress achieved by the villages.
The Pushkar convention of Sahakara Bharati is aimed to bring members of the cooperative movement from across the nation on a single platform, Sathishchandra said.
More than 3000 delegates from across India will be attending the two-day convention, Sathishchandra added.
