Bring sensitive issues to notice of higher-ups, SP tells cops

With general elections nearing, special care should be taken to create awareness among people on the fallout of factionism in several villages, said Superintendent of Police G.V.G. Ashok Kumar.

Taking stock of action plan implemented in the past fortnight in some identified ‘troublesome’ villages in the district, he said cordon and search was conducted in 40 villages, ‘palle nidra’ in 123 places, and simple visits to the villages was accomplished in 96 places by holding grama sabhas. Vehicle checks were also conducted at 178 places. He asked the police officials to be vigilant and bring to the notice of higher-ups any sensitive problem so that immediate decision and action could be taken. He added that help of other departments also must be taken to resolve issues identified during visits or that come to their notice through representations.

Instead of spoiling the law and order situation intowns and villages, such small steps would improve the political atmosphere also in the rural areas prior to the elections, he said.
