The promotional campaign for the new Toyota Supra has been long and laborious.

By now we’ve seen about a million spy photos and teaser photos of the new Toyota Supra. We also saw a prototype go up and down the hillcimb course all weekend long at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in the summer and even drove a prototype on track at the Jarama Circuit in Spain.

Finally, though, the A90 Supra’s nearly upon us. The automaker will debut the highly anticipated sports coupe at the 2019 North American International Auto Show in Detroit next month, reviving the storied Supra name and hopefully reigniting enthusiast’s passion for Toyota-badged sports cars.

But first, another teaser. Today Toyota released a short clip revealing the Supra’s inline-six exhaust note. It won’t be anything new to those familiar with BMW’s range of turbocharged inline-six engine, but we must admit, it’s one sweet sounding sports car. Toyota may have had to call on another automaker to supply the Supra’s engine this time around, but there’s no denying that BMW’s inline-six is one of the best driving and best sounding engine families on sale today.

This video could be a sign that Toyota has refined the Supra’s exhaust note a bit since we drove a pre-production example earlier this year. We felt the prototypes could have used more engine and exhaust noise, so perhaps Toyota listened to the feedback from the media.

The new Toyota Supra’s a 3.0-liter inline-six is expected to make around well over 300 hp (probably closer to 400 hp) and will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. You can also expect a curb weight lower than 3,300 lbs and a 0-60 mph of under 5 seconds.
