CHENNAI: The ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu on Wednesday expelled party coordinator and deputy chief minister O Panneerselvam’s brother, O Raja, from the primary membership of the party.
A joint press statement signed by Panneerselvam and joint coordinator Edappadi K Palaniswami said the functionary was removed on the charges of anti-party activities.
Raja brought disrepute to the party, the release said, without getting into the charges.
“None of the cadres should have any truck with him,” it said.
Raja, who is the former Periakulam municipal chairman, is one of the accused in the case of the abetment of the suicide of a dalit priest in Theni district.
