Two minor girls raped; one delivers child, other pregnant
tnn | Dec 20, 2018, 04:00 ISTRajkot: Crime against minors, especially girls, seems to be continuing unabated as two more cases of minors girls being raped were reported on Tuesday.
A 13-year-old girl has become the mother of a one-month-old girl child sired by her paternal uncle, while a 16-year-old girl is carrying a six-month-old foetus in her womb after being raped by two youths.
The two incidents were reported from Babra taluka of Amreli and Rajkot districts. The complaints in both the cases were lodged only on Tuesday night. While in the first case the paternal uncle of the rape survivor is yet to be arrested, in the second case, two youths were arrested from Rajkot on Wednesday.
In the first case, from Chamaradi village of Babra taluka, the survivor delivered a girl child after being raped by her uncle Omprakash Vasunia. The girl’s father had come to Chamaradi from his native Kheda village in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh to work as a farm labourer. He had taken his family members along with him and Vasunia had also accompanied him. The family lived in a farm where Vasunia allegedly raped the girl several times.
“After a few months, the family went back to Kheda, where they came to know that the 13-year-old girl was pregnant. The girl revealed Vasunia as the culprit and after the girl delivered a girl child, her father decided to lodge a complaint. As he was told that the complaint could not be registered in Jhabua, he returned to Babra and filed the complaint. We have conducted medical examination of the girl and we will soon send a team of cops to the village in Jhabua to arrest Vasunia,” sub-inspector of Babra police station K V Sarvaiya said.
The second case was reported from Bavaliapara in Race Course Ring Road locality of Rajkot, where the 16-and-a-half-year-old girl was raped allegedly by two 18-year-old youths.
The youths were identified as Nilesh Vishodia, a resident of Ghanshyam Residency in Railnagar, and Dhruv Parmar, a resident of Bavaliapara. “Vishodia allegedly raped the girl several times at different places in the last six months, Parmar had raped her once.
After the girl became pregnant, she named the accused and the complaint against the duo was lodged,” sub-inspector of Rajkot mahila police station M D Vithalapara said.
