Court orders FIR in eight-month-old rape case

GORAKHPUR: A local court, on Wednesday, ordered the Khorabar police to lodge FIR against three accused in a eight month old gangrape case.
A 21-year-old petrol pump attendant had made a complaint with Khorabar police that she was gangraped by the driver of the petrol pump owner and his accomplices in Jagdeesh pur area in April.

According to the victim, she reported the incident with Khorabar police but no FIR was registered even after complaint made to senior officials following which she moved to court seeking justice.

The victim, a native of Siwan district in Bihar, lived at rented house in Jagdeeshpur area.


Ambika Prasad, sub-inspector, Khorabar police station said,“The women had come with the copy of court’s order. In compliance of the order, the police would lodge an FIR and open a probe into the matter.”


The Sub-inspector added that the women had been called for medical examination on Thursday.


In the complaint, the woman said that she was offered lift by Bhanu Yadav, driver of the petrol pump owner, who took her to a secluded place where two of his accomplices joined him and raped her turn wise. She was humiliated.
