Four women over eight years allegedly sexually assaulted, held against their will by same man

An alleged "high risk domestic violence offender" will remain behind bars over multiple charges of sexually assaulting four women and holding them against their will between 2009 and 2017.

Aron Goodrem, 28, was arrested at Gosford police station on Monday, where he was charged with 54 historical sexual assault, kidnapping and domestic violence-related offences.

Court documents revealed the 28-year-old's lengthy rap sheet, which listed the 54 violent offences that allegedly took place over the eight years to 2017.

The charges included three counts of taking or detaining a person with intent to obtain advantage occasioning actual bodily harm, six counts of intentionally choking a person with recklessness, stalking intending fear of physical or mental harm, and aggravated sexual assault.

The offences were allegedly committed at locations across western Sydney, including Penrith, Parkes and Wentworthville.

Mr Goodrem did not appear for the mention of his matter at Central Local Court on Tuesday, and his lawyer Kamal Hamka did not apply for bail, however it was formally refused.

He will appear again at Central Local Court via audio-visual link on January 22.

An investigation into the alleged assaults was launched by strike force detectives from the State Crime Command’s Child Abuse and Sex Crimes Squad in June 2018.

It followed reports four women had been sexually assaulted and held against their will over a period of time by a man known to them.

Investigations under the strike force are ongoing.
