Gurugram-based device maker Micromax Informatics has launched two new smartphones, Infinity N11 and Infinity N12 in India. The smartphones are the latest in the company’s Infinity series and sport notch display and dual-rear cameras.

The devices come with a price tag of Rs 8,999 and Rs 9,999, respectively and will compete with foreign players such as Xiaomi, Asus, Realme, etc which have a clear stronghold in the mid-range category. Users can purchase the devices online as well as from offline retail outlets pan-India.

As part of the launch, Micromax is offering Reliance Jio users cashback of Rs 2,200 along with additional 50GB high-speed 4G data. Users can avail this offer on prepaid recharges of Rs 198 and Rs 299.

Micromax Infinity N11 and Infinity N12 specifications

Infinity N11 and Infinity N12 sport a large 6.19-inch HD+ display with 2.5D curved glass layout for better grip and a premium look. The devices flaunt a notch at the top and a skinny chin at the bottom. The display has a resolution of 720*1500 pixels with an aspect ratio of 18.9:9.

Both N11 and N12 are powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P22 SoC with 12nm technology and a maximum clock rate of 2GHz. While N11 flaunts a 2GB RAM, elder brother N12 ships with 3GB RAM with 32GB internal storage. The phones support memory expansion of up to 128GB by way of microSD.

The devices run Android 8.1 Oreo OS out-of-the-box and interestingly, Micromax has promised to roll out the latest Android 9.0 Pie in a few weeks time. Post-rollout, both Infinity N11 and N12 will become one of the cheapest smartphones which run on Google’s newest OS version which are priced under Rs 10,000.

In optics, the devices sport dual-rear camera setup with a 13MP primary sensor coupled with 5MP secondary snapper. The setup is completed by an LED flash for low-light photography assistance. On the front, Infinity N11 sports an 8MP snapper, whereas Infinity N12 sports a larger 16MP lens.

Both N11 and N12 draw power from a 4,000 mAh battery. While Infinity N12 will be available in Blue Lagoon, Velvet Red, and Viola colours, Micromax is yet to provide any details on the colour options of N11.

For connectivity, the Dual-SIM 4G smartphones come with dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5, GPS, GLONASS along with Face Unlock and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. Additionally, Micromax has retained the popular 3.5mm audio jack on both the devices which is slowly vanishing from most smartphones.
