Haryana: 18,000 students recite Gita shlokas in Kurukshetra

KURUKSHETRA: Around 18,000 students from different schools on Tuesday recited 18 shlokas of the Bhagavada Gita at the Theme Park during the closing ceremony of the International Gita Mahotsav.
Union minister Sushma Swaraj, Odisha governor Professor Ganeshi Lal, yoga Guru Ramdev, Gita Manishi Gyananand, Sudhanshu and Swami Chidanand were present during the function.
Swaraj, while addressing the gathering, said, “For the welfare of the world, every youth needs to be the messenger of Jiyo Gita and for achieving this they must read and adopt in life at least 2 shlokas from from the holy book every day. This is for the third time that 18,000 students recited shlokas of the holy book from its 18 chapters and they have created history by doing so. These students have given the message to the entire society to follow the path of karma, knowledge, and devotion. Not only this, 108 Brahmins also recited Gita shlokas at Jyotisar which is the origin place of the book.”
