Who doesn't like a bit of banter on the cricket field?

Call it good or bad, but Virat Kohli and Aussie captain Tim Paine having a go at each other during the Perth Test had the fans, cricket commentators and even the field umpires on the edge as the stump-mic recordings turned into a constant source of entertainment for those who tuned in to the second Test match.

On the fifth day, Aussie off-spinner Nathan Lyon ensured that the hosts finished their business quickly, sending Indian tail-enders back to the pavilion and taking a much-deserved victory home.

Lyon's five-fer earned him the Man of the Match award as he ended with a figure of 8-106, his seventh against India in Tests.

GOAT that he is, even before the victory, Lyon was seen having a good time on the field. Unlike the numerous verbal spats that clouded the match, the bowler offered to help Ishant Sharma take his guard just after the pacer came to the crease.

Nathan Lyon: Ishant, what are you looking for? Off-stump?

His cheeky remark immediately brought a smile on Sharma's face and umpire Kumar Dharmasena didn't mind the assistance from the part-time umpire.

Cricket fans seemed to have loved it.

Fans on Facebook appreciated the moment as well.

"This is the type of funny stuff you love seeing on the cricket field."

"there is nothing not to love about this guy !! Lovely Bloke !!(sic)"

"Great series so far, with emotions, tough battles and good chuckles. That’s what cricket is about."

India began on 112 for 5 and lasted only 14 overs on the final day before being eventually bowled out for 140, with Mitchell Starc and Nathan Lyon ending with three wickets each while Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood got two apiece.

The series is nicely poised at 1-1 and the two teams will meet on December 26 for the third Test on the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
