Four booked for assaulting woman

PATIALA: The police here have booked some persons under sections of the IPC including outraging modesty of a woman. The complainant alleged that the accused entered her house and outraged her modesty besides assaulting her.
The woman hails from Lohsimbli village of Ghanaur division in the district. The police said that according to the statement of the woman, the accused entered her house on Saturday evening when she was alone. The woman is married and the accused were known to her husband, said police.

The police claimed that the exact reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained but the woman alleged that the accused had recently landed in a tussle with her family members and on Saturday they entered the house on the pretext of meeting woman's husband.

The accused have been identified as Amanjot Singh, Binder Singh, Balbir Singh, and Balbir Singh Lohsimbli. The police added that the accused were on the run as they managed to escape from the spot after assaulting the complainant woman.

"We have registered a complaint against the accused on the complaint of the woman who was also given the first aid after she reported the incident. The woman is however out of danger but she alleged that the accused molested her and outraged her modesty besides assaulting her," said the IO.
