Thane youth accidentally shoots at friend

Representative imageTHANE: A youth from Kisan Nagar area in Thane’s Wagle Estate accidentally shot at his friend late on Tuesday. The victim, Vijay Yadav (20), has been admitted in a private hospital at Vartak Nagar. The police said preliminary investigations revealed that the youth was showing the firearm to Yadav and another friend when he accidentally shot him in the stomach.
Zonal deputy commissioner of police Avinash Ambure confirmed the incident, but said it is yet to be verified how they got the firearm and whether is is licensed or not. The police were registering the case till the time of going to press; the accused would be arrested thereafter.
