MUMBAI: Petrol and diesel prices shot up once again on Tuesday, with petrol rates going up from Rs 76.15 to Rs 76.25 a litre while diesel prices went up from Rs 67.47 to Rs 67.55 in Mumbai this morning.
A day earlier, Mumbaikars witnessed a rise in petrol and diesel prices after a two-month fall by Rs 15 a litre for petrol and nearly Rs 13 a litre for diesel. Fuel prices in the city have been dropping drastically by over 16 per cent since October 4.
A senior official from an oil marketing firm said any rise or fall in fuel prices has to do with international fluctuations in oil prices and the weakening/strengthening of the rupee vis-a-vis the dollar.
