A body of a man has been found at Jourama Falls area near Ingham in north Queensland.

Police had been searching for a missing 60-year-old man at Jourama Falls when they found the man's body about 10:30am on Tuesday.

Officers are in the process of recovering the body before formal identification can occur.

"Local police would like to thank everyone who has assisted in the search and rescue operation in challenging conditions over the past week including members from the State Emergency Service, park rangers, specialist police and the local community," a police spokesman said.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
