Kohli smashed 123, scoring bulk of India's runs as they ended at 283. With that he became the first player to get his name on the new Perth honours board!
It was his 18th as captain, 14th in away Tests, 7th against Australia, 6th in Australia and 5th in 2018.
With that, Kohli goes past Mohammad Yousuf and Viv Richards in most century tally and joins Inzamam-ul-Haq in list of Test tons. It was also his 10th away Test century as captain for Kohli — 2nd most, behind Graeme Smith who had 17.

Kohli also became the first Indian, first non-Australian and fourth batsman to hit 5 centuries in consecutive years. Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting and Steve Smith are the other players to have achieved this feat.

He is also the only 2nd captain with 5 centuries in consecutive years as captain after Ricky Ponting in 2005 and 2006.
This is also his 4th Test century for Kohli as captain in Australia — joint most for a visiting skipper in Australia. Perth was also the fourth venue in Australia where Kohli has scored a ton, after Melbourne, Sydney and Perth.
During the course of the innings, Kohli also completed 5000 Test runs at No.4 spot, becoming the third Indian to reach the landmark after Gundappa Vishwanath and Sachin Tendulkar.
Another intriguing number was the six scored by Kohli off Hazlewood was only his second in 2018 and his first six in Tests in 14 innings. His last six came against England in Birmingham earlier this year.
