The 40-year-old is set to be a part of the Mumbai Indians outfit, and will be a part of the franchise representation, joining the owners Mrs. Nita Ambani and Akash Ambani, at the IPL 2019 Auction.
Zaheer was part of the Mumbai Indians side for three seasons – in 2009, 2010 and 2014 - and took 29 wickets in 30 games for them. Apart from his home town team, the pacer has also featured for Royal Challengers Bangalore and Delhi Daredevils during his IPL career.
Ahead of the IPL auction, Mumbai Indians have retained 18 players, with big names like Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya and Jasprit Bumrah in the side. The three-time champions have also continued with Mayank Markande, Rahul Chahar, Anukul Roy, Ishan Kishan, Aditya Tare and Suryakumar Yadav.
They also boast of experienced T20 personnel like Kieron Pollard, Ben Cutting, Evin Lewis, Jason Behrendorff, Mitchell McClenaghan and Adam Milne.
Rohit Sharma, who has led the franchise to five titles, will continue to lead the side.
