Tractor falls into valley, four labourers killed

VARANASI: A tractor trolley overturned and fell into Markundy Valley, killing four labourers, in Sonbhadra on Monday evening.
The tractor trolley was carrying over 50 passengers including children. The deceased labourers included three women.
As per police reports, a group of 28 men, 18 women and six children, all residents of Mahuli, had gone to Adalhat to work in paddy fields.
At the end of the day, the labourers boarded the tractor trolley to return home.
As the tractor was passing by Markundy hills, the vehicle's driver lost control on the steering wheel and it fell into the valley.
Three labourers died on the spot, while one succumbed to injuries at the district hospital.
On seeing the critical condition of the nine injured labourers, doctors of the district hospital referred them to Varanasi.
Senior officials including SP (Sonbhadra) Kirit Rathore reached thge accident site for investigation.
