Parliament LIVE updates: The passing of the Triple Talaq Bill won't be easy for the government as the Opposition will look to corner them over the Rafale issue.
Parliament LIVE updates: Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will introduce the Triple Talaw Bill in Lok Sabha on Monday.
Lok Sabha may witness a tumultuous session Monday as the government will introduce the Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Bill, 2018 or the Triple Talaq Bill. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will introduce the Bill in the Lower House. The passing of the Bill won’t be easy for the government as the Opposition will look to corner them over the Rafale issue.
Meanwhile, calling the triple talaq ordinance “anti-Shariyat and anti-Muslim women”, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) said it will move the Supreme Court if the bill is passed in Rajya Sabha during the ongoing Winter session.
Other significant bills which will be moved in the lower house today will be the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2016, the New Delhi International Arbitration Centre Bill, 2018 and the Consumer’s Protection Bill, 2018.

Opposition leaders move Privilege Motion against Centre over Rafale
Opposition leaders moved privilege motion notice against the Narendra Modi government over the Rafale issue hours before the commencement of the fifth day of the winter session of the Parliament Monday. Congress MP Sunil Jakhar moved a privilege motion in Lok Sabha against PM Narendra Modi over the Rafale issue. RJD MP Manoj Jha also sent a privilege motion in Rajya Sabha against Attorney General over Rafale issue.
Meanwhile, Congress MP Ranjeet Ranjan and CPI (M) MP Mohammed Salim submitted an adjournment motion notice in Lok Sabha over the Rafale issue.
AIMPLB threatens to move to Supreme Court if Triple Talaq Bill is passed in Parliament
Calling the triple talaq ordinance “anti-Shariyat and anti-Muslim women”, the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) said it will move the Supreme Court if the ordinance is passed in Rajya Sabha during the ongoing Winter session.
On September 19, the Union Cabinet had passed the ordinance to amend provisions of the Triple Talaq Bill. It was later signed by President Ram Nath Kovind.
“There is a time period for an ordinance to be passed, and if it doesn’t in that time period, it has lapsed. The court said that if the ordinance has lapsed, then nothing will happen. But in case, unfortunately, the bill is passed and accepted, we will challenge it in Supreme Court," said AIMPLB member Syed Qasim Rasool Ilyas while briefing the media in Lucknow Sunday. READ MORE

In Rajya Sabha, External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj will move to withdraw the Nalanda University (Amendment) Bill, 2013.
A report by the Standing Committee of the Parliament on the subject 'Sino-India Relations including Doklam, border situation and cooperation in international organizations' will be submitted in both the houses. Shashi Tharoor and Sharad Tripathi will present the report in the lower house while Kumar Ketkar and Sambhaji Chhatrapati will present it in the upper house today.
On Friday, both the houses of the Parliament were adjourned following an uproar over the Supreme Court's dismissal of petitions seeking a probe into the Rafale deal.
The BJP, led by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, called for Congress president Rahul Gandhi’s apology for ‘misleading the country’ on the fighter aircraft deal in the Parliament. Singh, quoting the SC verdict in the Lok Sabha, said, “Congress president tried to mislead public for political benefits and maligned India’s image globally, he should apologize to the house and to the people of the country. He thought ‘Hum to doobe hain sanam tum ko bhi le doobenge’.”
Opposition relentless over Rafale
The Opposition parties had expressed earlier that they will continue their protest against the government on four issues – farm woes, “assault’ on institutions like the CBI and RBI, jobs and price rise and Rafale.
