In his first interview after taking oath, Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath in a freewheeling chat with Zee Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh editor Dileep Tiwari laid out his plans for Madhya Pradesh.
He said: "First priority is agriculture, second is how to find new ways of employment for youth and third is to ensure safety and security of citizens."
Regarding his first decision to give relief to farmers, Kamal Nath said, "We had vowed to waive farmer's loan, we have done it."Regarding criticism about farmer's loans being waived , Kamal Nath said that no one criticises when industrialists loans are waived . Describing the misery of farmers he said that they are born with loan and die in the same condition. The newly elected MP CM said that he wants to see smile on the face of the farmers.
Regarding his long association with the Gandhis, Kamal Nath said that it is his good fortune to work with three generations of the Gandhi family, starting with ex-PM Indira Gandhi. Kamal Nath said that the contours of the cabinet will be decided after discussions with Rahul Gandhi. However, he assured that all sections of the society, all regions and all communities will get representation in the cabinet.

Kamal Nath said that the message of opposition unity has gone from the lands of Madhya Pradesh, where top leaders were present during the swearing-in ceremony.
He claimed that Mayawati, Mamata Banerjee and Akhilesh Yadav didn't come due to personal reasons. Kamal Nath said that he will be fighting from one of the seats from Chindwara to get elected to the Assembly. Regarding paucity of funds, Kamal Nath said that he will be looking at new ways to generate resources to get revenue to fund projects. He also said that officials have been asked to tighten their budge. He added that his goal was to complete projects which are stuck midway.
