A powerful explosion windows and damaged the premises of a Greek television station early on Monday but left no casualties, police said in a statement.

The blast occurred at here around 2.35 a.m., which followed two anonymous phone calls that warned that explosions would take place in 45 minutes and it would not be a prank.

Police had evacuated the building and secured the perimeter, news reported.

Greek issued a statement describing the incident as "a cowardly attack" against democracy, and vowed that its perpetrators "will not achieve their objective."

Security cameras detected two individuals arriving at the premises, leaving a backpack in front of the building and fleeing on a motorcycle, said, adding there was no evidence pointing to any specific group.
