PATNA: The fortnight-long annual sports meet of Loyola High School concluded with enthusiastic participation of students from all classes on Sunday. The school also inaugurated its yearlong golden jubilee celebrations on the occasion.
Road construction minister Nand Kishore Yadav and joint secretary-cum-project director, PHED, Navin Kumar were the chief guest and the guest of honour, respectively, at the event. Jagdish Burman, regional officer, CBSE-Patna, was the special guest.
School principal Brother Satheesh, vice-principal, teachers and students accorded a warm welcome to the guests. The march past by students of all the four houses – Red, Blue, Green and Yellow – with the school band was a delight to the spectators. All participants marched to the perfect timing. The Red House emerged as the overall champion with 335 points.
In his welcome address, the principal said the school firmly believes that lessons learned outside the classrooms would go a long way in the development of the students’ personalities.
Yadav exhorted the students to keep up the spirit of sportsmanship in whatever they do in life. The students of Loyola Industrial School presented an eye-catching gymnastics (‘bhangra’ on fire) to showcase their physical agility. The relay race of the boys and girls generated palpable vivaciousness among the viewers. Several Alumni Association members also attended the event.
